JAKARTA (Dow Jones)--Gas distributor PT Gas Negara (PGAS.JK) said Friday its first-quarter net profit rose 18% to IDR2.16 trillion from IDR1.83 trillion a year earlier, driven by stronger gains from derivative transactions.
Sales for the three months ended March 31 rose 5.7% to IDR4.74 trillion from IDR4.49 trillion.
The company said it booked IDR413.6 billion in gains from derivative transactions in the first quarter, compared with IDR176.1 billion in gains a year earlier.
The company didn't specify the derivative transactions.
